  • FAQ
How is siochanta pronounced and what does it mean?
Siochanta is pronounced  "she-HON-ta" and is Gaelic for peaceful.
Do we have a storefront?
We do not have a storefront. All of our products are available for purchase online. We are currently working with small businesses in the area to carry our products.
Can customers return product containers for a credit?
We do not take containers back. Please enjoy using them for other purposes, giving them to Goodwill, or recycling them. Be creative and have fun!
Why do we only use certified pure therapeutic  grade essential oils when other oils are less expensive?
We only use CPTG essential oils because they are 100% pure, are responsibly sourced and thoroughly tested. In this country there is no governing body for the purity of essential oils. Therefore, a company can manufacture an essential oil as "pure" when there is only 5% pure compounds. That is why we use CPTG essentials oils.
are you a large company?
No. Not including Phoebe, our hen, who does quality control, the owners do everything! Suzy researches, ponders, researches again and creates the wonderful products, designs the labels, chooses the containers and "builds" our artistic market displays. Suzy also maintains the website and updates to all of our social media. David handles all business aspects in addition to teaching science to 8th graders full time!
Are our ingredients organic, natural, fair-trade and responsibly sourced?
Yes, to the best of our ability! We will never "cut corners" to save money.
how are our prices determined?
We calculate the price down to the cost of a single drop of essential oil. Each recipe is looked at separately.

Are products created and stored for future use?
No. Our products are created as they are ordered because it is important to Suzy to personalize each purchase.
What do we use for packaging?
We use glass, tin and cardboard, all of which are recyclable or reusable. We do not use plastic other than the BPA free caps for our glass bottles.
For your floral arrangements, where do you get the flowers?
The flowers used in our arrangements come directly from our gardens and meadow.

May I choose the color and variety of flowers?
You can share what colors and varieties you might prefer. But, nature does the choosing. Arrangements are created using what is available.
May I choose the color of ribbons, etc.?
Yes, that is a wonderful way for us to connect to color themes at the wedding or special event.
Will you create arrangements all year?
The answer is yes, and no. Yes, we will create arrangements throughout the year. No, we will not be using fresh flowers in late Fall through early Spring. Instead, we have available dried flowers from our farm such as peonies, strawflowers, lavender and hydrangea.
How much input will i have?
We will need to meet and chat so that we can all be on the same page. Visiting the venue, or at least viewing photographs, will help us in the planning process. Honestly, if you can leave it up to us and enjoy the other special parts of the planning, please do so. We will need to be given as much creative leeway as possible so that we can do the best job possible for you.
Are our  candles and soy wax melts natural?
In order for us to create natural soy candles and wax melts, we had to be sure that the level of quality and care (our philosophy) could be applied to the art of making candles and soy wax melts. We have found a company that produces 100% phthalate-free (a carcinogen) fragrance oils for wax melts.

Our candles and wax melts are made with only natural soy wax with no added chemicals or paraffin. Because of this, our candles and wax melts are intended to provide a pleasantly subtle fragrance for your home, rather than an overpowering aroma.
is the fragrance oil used in the candles and wax melts pure?
The fragrance oil used in our wax melts are not only free of phthalates, but also exclude materials with similar health concerns, including those on California's Prop 65 list.
what is the delivery time for candles and wax melts?
Because our candles and wax melts are hand poured in small batches for our customers, and because the cure time for the candles and wax melts is a minimum of one week, it may take up to a week to fulfill an order. We will email you at the time of the order with an estimated delivery date.
